It is a dark and troubling time in America. It is impossible to be a person of good conscience, struggling to live a moral life, and not feel an ominous cloud hovering over us.

Just in the past week, the lunatics in charge of America have:

murdered an innocent protester, and lied about the circumstances. There will be no federal consequences for the murder, Jonathan Ross. The first words out of Ross’ mouth, after shooting her three times in the face, were “Fucking bitch.” Renee Good’s glove compartment was filled with stuffed animals for her son.
made open threats of taking over Greenland, including military options, that would all but collapse NATO and almost certainly lead to a war with Europe.
brought criminal charges against the Federal Reserve, because the chair, Jerome Powell, wouldn’t adjust interest rates to favor tRump’s political agenda.
declared himself the “Acting President of Venezuela”.

What is WLBOTT‘s Place?

We acknowledge the unnecessary human loss, grief, and deprivation
We Punch Up, Not Down. Fascist hate satire – their weak egos can’t tolerate mockery. I secretly suspect they don’t even get most of the jokes. Like a lot of bullies, these people are dumb.
“We laugh so we don’t cry” is not avoidance. It is a pressure valve, not an escape hatch. Laughter here is not saying this doesn’t hurt. It’s saying this hurts so much that if we don’t release something, it will crush us. Hopefully, we leave space for mourning. We are not numb. We are hyper-aware.
