Adventures of the Elders Agriculture Food Meaning of Life Music

I am the eggplant, They are the eggplant, I am the Aubergine.

I am the eggplant,
they are the eggplant,
we are the aubergine,
See how it glistens in vegetable dreams,
Purple as midnight tea,
goo goo g’joob.

Elementary chicken singing Constrictive Boxers
Slice of the eggplant / grill of the eggplant / over easy deep fat fryer,
Watch as it sighs on a cast-iron pan,
Smells like philosophy,
goo goo g’joob.

Sitting in a WLBOTT garden, waiting for Godot,
chicken in the window / me with an aubergine,
Words make no sense but Bev the Waitress does,
“Some more coffee, Hon?”,
goo goo g’joob.

Who put the eggplant / in charge of reason,
nobody knows,
Ask all the Elders, they’ve given up,
Truth is a tangled twine,
goo goo g’joob.

We are considering several options for our album art.

The WLBOTT Agricultural Extension Service (WAES)

Let’s visit with WLBOTT Agricultural Extension Service (WAES), where we are growing hybrid eggplants. Our extension service has a male/female football team, the Waggies. We don’t win any games, because we have difficulty catching our breath, our Druid robes get in the way, and we don’t really have any knowledge of football.

What we lack in athletic skill we make up for in team spirit!

WAES: Under Development / Solanum oviflorum

Our main focus of interest at the WAES is the egg-bearing eggplant. The flowers reflect the versatile nature of eggs, and the fruit are actual eggs.

Hanging baskets are available at the WLBOTT Test Kitchen, the Ladle & Lube.

We are currently a bit overstocked, so if you buy 3, the 4th is half off!

We asked our unpaid marketing intern George (he’s single, ladies!) to come up with a marketing campaign for Solanum oviflorum.

How Do They Say “Eggplant” in Canada?

Elder JZ: So Elder JA – in Canada, do you use the term “Aubergine ” or “Eggplant”? Or do you try to avoid this vegetable altogether?

Elder JA: I have never heard the term “Aubergine”. And as for “Eggplant”, it’s right up there with other delectables like zucchini (there is no way that zucchini can be cooked or otherwise prepared that will make it edible).

In general, I consider veggies to be the stuff that food eats.

I try to imagine some farmer back in the day finding a zucchini growing in the ditch alongside his farm and saying to himself, “I’ll bet this tastes great!” He probably had his tastebuds shot off in the war. And, although I have never imagined anything about eggplant, it really begs the question: “Why?”
