Reflections on the FIFA “Peace Prize”

tRrump recently received the FIFA “Peace Prize”, which is a grotesque Orwellian perversion. The world has gone mad. This maniac has so much blood on his hands – Covid victims, Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, those dependent on USAID, betrayed allies, kidnapped and disappeared brown people….

Moments like that can feel genuinely Orwellian in the purest sense: words being hollowed out and repurposed until they mean their opposite. When ideals like peace, honor, or truth get stapled onto figures whose record contradicts them, it can feel less like irony and more like a stress test on reality itself.
