One of our esteemed Elders, Elder Jim Zim, is traveling to upstate New York. Elder JimZim is visiting remote farms that may serve as an enclave for a group of splinter Proto-WLBOTTers. He is also attending a monthly gathering of the Adult Camera Club, near Woodstock.
Elder JimZim made some new friends at the Adult Camera Club.
Another Event! Neil Young!
Elder JimZim noticed another event was going on the following day – Neil Young was playing an outdoor concert at the former site of the Woodstock concert! Elder JimZim bought a ticket, went a little early, and started chatting with the roadies. He asked if he could pitch in!
We were honored that they temporarily renamed the concert the WLBOTT Festival!
You know you’ve been accepted when the roadies share their Advil with you.
Although there was not universal excitement for the re-name.
Getting There
The Neil Young concert is being held at the Bethel Woods Center in upstate New York, in about 10 hours.
As we zoomed in on the concert facility, we noticed an anomaly.
Elder JimZim arrived a full 24 hours early to find a shady spot.
Elder JimZim has reported in this morning:
Gentle people, I’m in Liberty NY at an AirBnB cabin/farm. It’s a rustic but nice place – clean, full kitchen, a/c but don’t need it, good WiFi, etc. I talked to the host/farmer – he lives on another property. Probably a bit older than us – long white hair and beard. Nice guy.
Observations:

Drove up [from Maryland]. No train service. 5 hour drive but no traffic. Stopped twice. Took secondary roads most of the way. Last 2 hours through Poconos (PA) and Catskills (NY). Catskills are particularly hilly/small mountains and 2 lane roads. Can imagine the traffic jams during the original Woodstock.
