July 28, 2025 – Change

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn.”

– Helen Keller
author, lecturer, activist

This quote by Helen Keller is a beautiful and powerful metaphor for resilience and adaptability. It’s an especially strong choice for a blog post on change, because it captures both the fear and possibility that come with life’s unexpected twists.

About Helen Keller
Helen Keller (1880–1968) was an American author, speaker, and activist who overcame the immense challenges of being both deaf and blind. Through determination, the support of her devoted teacher Anne Sullivan, and an unbreakable spirit, Keller became a symbol of courage and resilience worldwide. She learned to communicate, graduated from college, and spent her life advocating for people with disabilities and social justice causes. Her life stands as powerful proof that even the hardest paths can lead to extraordinary places – if we’re willing to keep going, to learn, and to change.

WLBOTT greatly admires Helen Keller, as well as the organization that maintains her legacy (Helen Keller International).

We’ve done half a dozen blotts about her and the good work of the Helen Keller International organization.
