We knew from our initial interview that we wanted to hire Kennetta Kornerstone. You met Kennetta and her brother Stephan yesterday as they welcomed our first guests to the WLBOTT Sukkah.
Our problem was where to place her. She had such an amazing resume that we could consider her for several positions. She had a bachelor’s in Astrobiology, with minors in bagpiping and Egyptology (Texas A&M), a masters in Eastern European Political Science and Ornamental Weed Control (William and/or Mary) and a doctorate in Non-Lethal Gastronomy (Bella Donna-Bella perked up her ears on hearing this).
During the course of the interview, Kennetta told us of her culinary experience. She had been studied under the Great Chefs of Bryan/College Station, and had worked her way thru Texas A&M serving at the Sbisa Dining Hall.

Kennetta mentored her college roommate Amy Jorgenson in the techniques of scoop/serve.

Kennetta won the 2001 Sbisa Portion Control Award for proving that ANYTHING can be served from an ice cream scoop.

Kennetta’s menu created a great rift, a schism, if you will, among the WLBOTT hiring committee. Half of us wanted her to start next Tuesday, the other half wanted her to start TODAY. But there was one hold-out. We won’t mention which Elder (HIPA, etc), but this Elder has a medical device installed directly in his aorta to measure his grease level. It is basically a medical dip-stick. Last doctor’s visit he was a quart high. When he raised his objections, we suggested that Kennetta could add Chicken Fried Salad (recommended by 0 out of 5 cardiologists) to the menu. We also emphasized the “Lube” aspect of “Ladle & Lube.”
