This photo was taken just moments after they learned that these were unpaid positions.

Some despair, so we issued emotional support chickens…

But as their initial disillusionment began to fade, they saw the opportunities within the WLBOTT subversive vibe.

More resistance fighters as the team coalesced…

Anyhow, their first assignment was to review Elder JimZim’s blott proposal on the under-reported topic of homophones. By a vote of 2-1[1] (with 17 abstentions), his blott topic was approved.

[1] Large quantities of vitriol was directed to the one negative vote, with accusations of homophoneaphobia.

Gentle people – it has been far too long since I wandered down a rabbit hole, but a head cold, boring Olympic Opening Ceremonies (mitigated by some outstanding curling) and Super Bowel provided ample time and bandwidth for me to goof off.

My latest (mis)adventure started when I read about the Faroe Islands (FI) in the NY Times. The FI are a Danish territory, much like Greenland. It is cold and subject to strong North Atlantic storms but its weather is warmer than Greenland since it sits on the Gulf Stream. FI has a population of 55,000, is self-sufficient and has a good economy based on salmon production. FI will have all electricity generated by wind and hydropower by 2030.

Let me start my journey.

The point of the NYT article is that the separatist moment on FI is pausing until tRump gets out of office. Wise choice.

Tyr has been labeled as neo-nazi when online trolls misinterpreted their interest in Viking ruins and culture for nazi worship. Tyr retaliated by releasing a song clearing things up.

But lest we forget, a pig in the act of giving birth to piglets is known as a farrowing sow.

[ed. note: coincidentally, we have recently opened a birthing center: The WLBOTT Center for Porcine Maternity & Care, under the direction of the WLBOTT Office of Emergent Hog Affairs]

We gave our former WaPo reporters a challenging new assignment: the Birth Announcement.

When life hands you fascism, you look for opportunities for fantastic-ism. We’ve all heard that jeff bezos recently laid off 300 journalists from the Washington post. He literally stranded his own journalists in a war zone in Ukraine. There are many disturbing ramifications of this move, especially related to freedom of the press and appeasement […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[47,82

post-64638","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-adventures-of-the-elders","category-erudition
["GET
![""/]("https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/5waykn2eubr5kuibqjkjg/20260210_0432_Image-Generatiod.jpg?rlkey=yefvam8qc9angaadkmxp5o50t&st=m49xuerj&raw=1")

The NYT article quotes the frontman from the FI-based Viking folk metal band, Tyr. Tyr is rather prolific and its Wiki page says it is one of two of the best metal bands in the FI. (I haven’t investigated the other FI metal band).

Simultaneously, I was considering my Super Bowl feast and decided to make a farro salad. Farro is a bland grain like barley but sucks up flavor. The resulting salad (with herbs, nuts , etc) was a 6 out of 10.

While looking for farro recipes, my search engine brought up Mia Farrow. We will leave Mia’s relationship with Woody Allen alone, but she did give birth to Ronan Farrow (allegedly sired by Frank Sinatra). Ronan is ( in my strongly heterosexual opinion) one of the best looking men in the world. And he is also a world class journalist.

And if you were in Tombstone, Arizona in the late 19th century, you could see Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday dealing Faro, a precursor to poker.
