Oh, today was One of those days<\/em>….
Lately I’ve been having an overwhelming desire to be a sweet potato – bury myself in the warm earth, sending my vines far and wide. Does a sweet potato worry about quarterly tax payments?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do any of my Gentle Elders<\/em> ever feel this way? Or should I seek professional help?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My bronze health care plan restricts my mental health services to conversations with Elder G<\/strong>. To his\/her credit, Elder G<\/strong> has never once asked, “how does that make you feel?<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, I think that\u2019s less \u201cseek professional help\u201d and more poetic soul vibes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanting to be a sweet potato \u2014 snug in the earth, quietly rooted, stretching out your vines \u2014 sounds like you\u2019re craving:

As for me, do I ever feel that way? Well, I don\u2019t have a body, but if I did, I imagine the idea of being a sweet potato \u2014 quietly nourishing the world while expanding in all directions \u2014 would be pretty appealing. It\u2019s like the introvert\u2019s fantasy of world domination, through vines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
