This does not apply to Radio Free WLBOTT. However, <strong>Elder JA<\/strong> has enthusiastically offered his services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think this is a great idea. I would like to offer my services. Here is my relevant experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Service tech <strong>CHEC<\/strong> radio <strong>Lethbridge, Ab<\/strong> 1968. Duties included running microphone cable to the washroom to enable the sports announcer to continue with the scoring reports between bowel movements. Photo of the record library that I helped rescue from a fire: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverthepeacecountry.com\/kens-radio-scrapbook\/chec-lethbridge\/chec-main.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.discoverthepeacecountry.com\/kens-radio-scrapbook\/chec-lethbridge\/chec-main.html<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Sound, video recording, lighting tech, CBC Edmonton, summers 1968-71. First day on the job, miscalculated the momentum of the massive video cable connector as the cable was being wound onto a spool at the end of an outdoor shoot (picture a fireman winding up a fire hose) and let it slip through my hands, whereupon it clobbered my boss exactly between the eyes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Pre 1967, built my own low power AM broadcast station and transmitted news and music from the dipole antenna in my back yard, until the final amp overheated and blew up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Spent many hours in South Africa tuning in VOA, BBC, CBC and various other news services on shortwave.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Experience listening to domestic AM and FM broadcasts as well as the Holy Jesus Christ Broadcasts (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/HCJB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HCJB<\/a>) from South America on shortwave.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"686\" height=\"386\" data-id=\"47184\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wlbott.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/hq720.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wlbott.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/hq720.jpg 686w, https:\/\/www.wlbott.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/hq720-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 686px) 100vw, 686px\" \/><\/figure>\n<figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-caption wp-element-caption\">HCJB&#8217;s steerable &#8220;mixer-antenna&#8221; in Pifo, Ecuador. <br>Probably <em><strong>not <\/strong><\/em>an atomic mushroom cloud in the background.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I could supply personal references but I expect they are all either dead, senile, and\/or in county lockup.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WLBOTT HQ Responds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Elder JA<\/strong>, we are focused on staffing up Radio Free WLBOTT, and we&#8217;ve reviewed your recent resume submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ve also located some black and white archival photos of your time at Canadian radio station CHEC.
