Crazy dream last night.

I was at a tractor repair garage and showroom, in the middle of the night. I needed to call my brother Ken, but my crappy cell phone wasn’t working (a recurring theme in my dreams). The phone had no contact list, and an impossible user interface that keep steering me to ads.

The store where I bought the phone was just across the highway, so me and some buddies at the garage decided to go visit the store and get my phone fixed.

We crossed the street and started walking towards the phone store, but we passed a restaurant parking lot that was being filled with huge waves of gooey, toasted mozzarella.

We decided to break into the small family Italian restaurant to see what was going on. It turned out that their automated mozzarella toasting machine was running amuck[1], pumping huge amounts of toasted cheese throughout the restaurant and overflowing into the parking lot.

By the way, the mozzarella was delicious, and we divided our time between eating lots of cheese and trying to find an emergency contact number for the restaurant owner.

[semi-sequitur: I’d recently watched a horror show where a woman was haunted by a demon in her dream. She couldn’t tell if she was dreaming or awake, so she posted a notice on her wall, believing that you are unable to read in a dream. In my mozzarella dream, this was also true, the emergency contact list we eventually found was garbled and the letters danced around.]

In the end, the owner showed up and turned off the machine. He was angry at us for breaking in, and claimed there was a million dollars in damage. No good deed goes unpunished.

What a Dream I Had
Pressed in Organdy

For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her
Song by Simon & Garfunkel

""

What I dream I had

Pressed in organdy

Clothed in crinoline of smoky Burgundy

Softer than the rain

I wandered empty streets

down past the shop displays

I heard cathedral bells

Tripping down the alley ways
As I walked on

""

""

And when you ran to me

Your cheeks flushed with the night

We walked on frosted fields

of juniper and lamplight

I held your hand

And when I awoke and felt you warm and near

I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears

Oh I love you girl

Oh I love you

I love this cover of “For Emily” – a talented guitarist with a beautiful, enchanting voice, and a laundry basket of clothes that need to be folded!
