The recipe won first place at the annual Minnesota Congressional Delegation Hotdish Off in 2014. We kept the original recipe mostly intact, but replaced blanched green beans with frozen ones and used just one skillet to cook the components, reducing the number of dirty dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you heard to news?! New Ulm was just named the Best City to Live in Minnesota! Our community of about 13,000 has been getting a lot of recognition lately as being a good place to live, and was also recently listed Best City in MN to Live in a USA TODAY article that came out in October 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest study by 24\/7 Wall Street looked at the nearly 20,000 villages, towns, and cities across the 50 states and recognized that not all are \u201cequally conducive to the well-being of those who live there.\u201d They created a weighted index of over two dozen measures to identify the top towns, including safe streets, a strong economy, affordability, and a range of entertainment options, among others factors. The Hermann Heights Monument is a statue erected in New Ulm, Minnesota, United States. The statue depicts Arminius (German: Hermann), an ancient Cheruscan, but locals refer to the statue as Hermann the German<\/strong>. The only National Register of Historic Places property of its kind in Minnesota, the monument is a remembrance of the German ancestry of many Minnesotans. Visitors to the statue can climb the spiral staircase to an observation platform at the base of the statue, which commands a view of the town and the Minnesota River Valley below.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
